I've stopped taking Neurontin... I'm on my third or fourth day without it... I've been only taking one pill a day for the last several weeks, and a couple days ago I stopped taking them all together. Haven't noticed a big increase in pain, probably because I haven't been thinking about it. I have noticed an increase in creativity, unfortunately without the needed increase in mechanical ability or ability to be 'upright' long enough to complete the recently thought of projects.
I did manage to get the bike engine running last night- It had either an electric starter or a generator bolted to it... I hooked that piece to a battery and turns out it's a starter. Sweet. Then I had to figure out if it was getting spark- Unplugged the 'kill' wire and it suddenly was. Is the choke this way, or that way? Maybe this ... BRAAAAAAAAP... pap pap pap pap ... Guess it's that way. Cool. OW! Yup, Ok, Don't hold the spark plug to keep it from rattlin' itself off the table...
I got the engine mount all welded together yesterday, but in the process forgot that aluminum can shrink a bit when it's welded and then cools... So I had to heat treat it, then beat it a little to get it into shape. Looked for a bigger hammer twice, but managed not to crack anything. It had changed dimentions almost a quarter inch over eight when I welded the gussets in. So I'll remember that for the next time. Now I need to get the wheels back from the bike guy, and figure out how I'm going to build the drive train, and the shift lever for the Shimano hub. Unfortunately I didn't buy it with one.. So I have to make one. Or buy one, if my "I can make it" attempts fail. Oh but wait, I just found one for $35, so looks like I'm gonna buy it. I've never seen one before you see, and building something you've never seen (when it HAS to work exactly) can sometimes be problematic.
'Cource if this works, the next project after will be to build a bike around a slightly larger engine.. Like a Rotax 2 stroke snowmobile engine or something. I have a 586 I pulled out of a wrecked Ski-Doo back before I was crippled... 97 horsepower in a package I could (then) pick up. Always intended in making it into something, but that particular engine went through the wringer and just may take too much work to get running again. But something like that... Maybe one out of an old Mk 3 portable pump. Who knows. I do know those pumps are bomber, and the little engine that could (and does, on thousands of fires a year) is a rotax.
Ok, I have to get up early and pound my head some more with math... I'm quite thankfull that this is my only class in which I n=have 'real' homework, I just wish it wasn't quite so confusing, time consuming, and frustrating. Oh, I forgot tedious. Exactly what I want to spend all of my free time doing.
