Douglas Fir, Clairmont, East Quincy.
Base diameter = 36 inches.
The tree as I found it, leaning about 15 - 20 degrees downhill.

The base with the saw. 36" bar currently on the saw.

Face cut's done, now for the tricky part...

Because of the lean, I had to bore in behind the face cut and cut out, otherwise the tree was likely to 'barberchair' and kill me.

All done, all sticks observed downrange and safe.

Although it was my intention to hide the stick in the woods for later gathering, it spun a little wierd on the stump and landed right in the road. Sigh.

Woodgathering gets no easier than this!
